ABOUT US

      The Civil Department since its inception in 2009 serves the Civil Engineering community by imparting quality education with the motto of making our student knowledgeable and employable. A Civil Engineer from our college will be trained with the skill of building the world with proper attitude, love and enthusiasm and is provided with a life style in harmony with environment. Our department is having well experienced staff members both in educational and industrial side which would help the students in various aspects like improvement in exam results and also in recruitment. Well-equipped lab facilities for both UG and PG are available. Fully furnished staff room with all state of the art facilities like laptop and desktop computers, scanners, printers, intercom, purified drinking water, Wi-Fi internet connectivity. Central library system with access to journals like IEEE, Springer, DELNET, etc. is available. Very good infrastructural engineering facilities. University question bank with answer keys are uploaded in the cybernet of college helps the students to improve their performance. Green environment of the college helps the students to study peacefully. RO-water facility in and around the college. One of the very big campus among the engineering colleges in the pudukkottai district. Conducting National level technical seminar and workshops ever year.


Programme Educational Objectives

  • PEO1: Graduates will adapt to the modern engineering tools for planning, design, execution and maintenance of works with sustainable development in the Civil engineering profession.
  • PEO2: Graduates will use innovative materials, practices and techniques for sustainable, eco-friendly and life-line infrastructures.
  • PEO3: To promote graduates to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary projects and make them engage in the life-long learning process throughout their professional life.


Programme Specific Outcomes

  • PSO1: The graduates will plan, draw, write design specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
  • PSO2: The graduates will interact with employers and customers efficiently and ensure quality in site work and construction work through modern tools.
  • PSO3: The graduates with mathematics and physical sciences skills will excel in the core areas such as structural, environmental, water resources engineering, transporting engineering and construction engineering.


Programme Outcomes (PO)

Programme Outcome (POs) is the outcomes that students are expected to know and be able to perform or attain by time of graduation. Our Programme Outcomes are as follow:

  1. Engineering Knowledge - Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, mechanical engineering fundamentals and specialization to the solutions of complex engineering problems;
  2. Problem Analysis - Ability to identify, formulate, conduct research literature and analyze complex engineering problems using principles of mathematics, natural sciences and mechanical engineering sciences;
  3. Design/Development of Solutions - Ability to design mechanical solutions for complex engineering problems and systems, components or processes that meet specified needs;
  4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems - Ability to conduct investigation of complex problems using research based knowledge and research methods to provide valid conclusions;
  5. Modern Tool Usage - Ability to develop and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and innovative engineering tools to complex mechanical engineering activities;
  6. The Engineer and Society - Ability to apply contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues with the awareness of the consequent responsibilities to professional mechanical engineering practice for the betterment of society;
  7. Environment and Sustainability - Ability to understand the impact of professional mechanical engineering solutions in societal, economic and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development;
  8. Ethics - Ability to apply ethical principles and demonstrate commitment to professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of mechanical engineering practice;
  9. Individual and Team Work - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering and management principles and apply these effectively as an individual, a member or a leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary settings;
  10. Communication - Ability to communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large;
  11. Project Management and Finance - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of project management, finance principles, business development within the scope of mechanical engineering practices.
