Lateral Entry Admissions

Students who have a Diploma in Engineering/Technology or a B.Sc Degree with mathematics can be admitted through the following quotas for the undergraduate programs.

Scholarships

Mount Zion Christian Educational Trust offers various scholarships and awards for students of Mount Zion College of Engineering & Technology. These scholarships and awards are given each year at the Annual Day Celebrations.

  • Scholarships for meritorious students and students from economically backward families.
  • Andrews Chelliah Scholarship: > 8.0 CGPA > 80% in both semesters individually for boys. Instituted by Mr. Jayabarathan Chelliah in honour of his father.
  • Joseph Pratap Singh Masillamoni Scholarship: > 8.0 CGPA >80% in both semesters individually for girls. Instituted by Mrs. Florence Jayabarathan in honour of her father.
  • Sports Scholarship: For sports persons excelling in inter-collegiate sports.
  • Charles Award: 1st three places in University Examinations in the Department for Boys.
  • Ponnamma Charles Award: 1st three places in University Examinations in the Department for Girls.
  • Esther Chelliah Award: Instituted by Mr. Jayabarathan Chelliah in honour of his mother.
  • Evangeline Masillamoni Award: Instituted by Mrs. Florence Jayabarathan in honour of her mother.
  • Perfect Attendance Award: For 100% Attendance in each semester individually.
  • Paulraj Chelliah Award: Individual Men’s Sports Championship.
  • Tennyson Masillamoni Award: Individual Women’s Sports Championship.
  • Arumanayagam Yesudian Award: Best Outgoing Student (Final Year).
  • Jamila Chellam Yesudian Award: All Rounder Student.
  • Hostel Awards: Various awards based on hostel activities.

Bank Loans

Students who are in need of bank loans can contact the office during regular working hours. The government has designated certain banks in certain areas to cater to the requirements of students.

The college will provide the estimated fee statement for the completion of the course - which will include the amount required for hostel stay / transportation / final year project / purchase of laptop / etc.

Students are advised to keep their grades high so the banks will process their loan requests quickly every year.
