The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology, established in 2008, provides quality education with experienced faculty, modern laboratories, and industry-oriented training.

Mech Department

A Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing Technology

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2008 and has grown into one of the prominent departments in terms of faculty strength, student development, and academic activities. The department continuously expands its academic and technical initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the engineering industry.

The department offers quality education through experienced and highly qualified faculty members who guide students beyond classroom learning. It aims to prepare undergraduate and postgraduate students for successful careers in traditional and modern Mechanical Engineering fields.

The department is equipped with advanced CAD/CAM/CAE facilities that meet current industry standards. Students receive extensive job-oriented training in leading software tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, TEKLA, Pro-E, and ANSYS, enabling them to gain strong technical and practical knowledge.

Well-maintained laboratories for both UG and PG programmes provide students with hands-on experience in applying engineering principles and developing innovative problem-solving skills. The department also offers excellent infrastructural facilities, modern staff rooms, Wi-Fi connectivity, purified drinking water, and access to digital learning resources.

The department has a central library system with access to journals and databases such as IEEE, Springer, and DELNET. With experienced faculty from both academic and industrial backgrounds, the department supports students in academic excellence, placement training, and career development while regularly conducting national-level seminars and workshops.
